Maker Faire 2013

Along with spring flowers, May always brings Maker Faire to San Mateo. This year we brought “The Evolution of the Console Controller” exhibit that we had at PAX Prime 2012 and expanded it with a section on rhythm controllers, including a playable Dance Dance Revolution on a professional quality metal mat, and Parappa the Rapper. We were delighted to see people singing along with Parappa, including one player who knew all the raps by heart. Thanks to the generosity of our friends at Novint, we also had a Novint Falcon available for play with Portal, and there was always a line to try out this haptic controller. We were not just busy, we were mobbed from start to finish both days. Thanks to the great volunteers who came out to set up and staff the booth.
