Master Chief

When we add something to our collection, we “accession” it, which means that it is now legally part of the collection. But when a museum has something it no longer wants in its collection, it’s often offered to another museum. The museum that had it de-accessions it. This life-sized statue of Halo‘s Master Chief, which has some damage to the knee and a detached arm, was de-accessioned by the Computer History Museum. They were happy to find a home with us for it, and we’re pleased to have Master Chief. We’re also looking for a good way to make a knee brace! The arm is detached because its weight pulls the statue over to the side and the damaged knee can’t support it. Did you think Master Chief survived all those battles unscathed? Apparently not!
